What is a conference interpreter? What is the difference with other interpreters?
A conference interpreter is trained and qualified to work in high level conference settings. They are able to offer simultaneous interpretation of complex live events as well as longer consecutive interpretrations designed to be less disruptive, for exemple during diplomatic meetings or events. They are also expected to keep in touch with current affairs and to have mastered various preparation techniques to make sure they use appropriate terminology in their interpretration.
Public service interpreters work in the community, generally with the police, the immigration services, the courts and hospitals to provide an interpretation service to the people involved.
Liaison interpreters, also known as business interpreters, facilitate communication during appointments and meetings. They generally work consecutively.

Do you offer interpretation in person or online ?
I work in both contexts. I can interpret between English and French on site, either from a sound-proof booth for events such as conferences, summits and training seminars, or using a mobile interpreting device and headset, for exemple during site visits. Finally, I can also work remotely (Remote Simultaneous Interpretation), using platforms such as Zoom with interpretation.

​How far in advance should I book my interpreters ?
For larger events, it is better to allow some preparation time so your interpreters can familiarise themselves with the agenda and discussed the terminology with the rest of the team. If you need several languages and if your event spans several days, book your head of interpreting and your interpreters a few months ahead to ensure they're available. That said, i have been known to accept last minute bookings too. It all depends on availability and preparation time.
